Where is your GPS directing you?

In today’s society, media outlets - including social ones, and the focus on celebrity status have placed a heightened focus and pressure on how we look.

One thing that I’ve learned in my profession is that we, especially women, place the most pressure on ourselves. I know that I am my largest critic!

Unfortunately, many of the clients that I work with have a copious amount of negative self-talk. It sabotages how they view themselves and reflects outwardly in their personal energy. Much of the work that I do as an image consultant is helping to grow & build positive self-talk and healthy self-confidence within my clients.

The first step towards GROWING positive self-talk and healthy self-confidence is embracing who you are. Flaws and all. Celebrate yourself! Note everything that is good about you, both internally and externally. When focusing on your external image, promote the areas of your face and body that you like. Conversely, identify and accept the areas that you don’t like as much. Then, decide how to make it all work for you.

To help, use the ABC formula:

  • Accentuate
  • Balance
  • Camouflage

If you think that you have great legs and arms, Accentuate ! Wear clothing that will show them off. If you are a little heavier on the bottom, and smaller up top, learn ways to keep your body in Balance. And, if you have a little extra in the middle, learn ways to Camouflage it.

Growing confidence through clothing and grooming is also a perfect way to begin building your confidence and increasing your perceived value

These simple 5 steps will help you get started:
  1. Dress appropriate for each day and wear the best quality that you can afford.
  2. Invest in an image consultant or stylist to assist in creating looks that enhance and increase your value.
  3. For women – wear a minimum of lipstick and mascara everyday. Whether we like it or not, it is a fact that women who wear makeup are favored and earn 12% more than women who do not.
  4. For men and women – make sure that your grooming standards are high. Make the effort to do your hair and keep it looking nice daily. It should not be a mistake that your hair looks good on any given day!
  5. Wear appropriate shoes and keep them polished.

As a certified image consultant, I equip my clients with an array of tools that enhance their external image.

Some of the one-on-one services that I provide are:
  • Determining your power colors
